New food and wine TV show to feature Sierra Foothills

A new food and wine TV show called The California Table is going to feature Nevada County, according to the Northeast CA Counties Film Commission.

The California Table is a road show illustrating the best the state of California has to offer in terms of food and wine. Examples include artisanal fare, exploring vineyards in Sonoma and Napa as well foraging bounty from the sea. And of course always closing on our beautiful California tables.

“Having worked with the producers for a number of weeks, we’ve recently received their thumbs-up indicating an episode of a new food/travel TV show, The California Table, will be filming here in the near future. The production team has impressive industry as well as culinary/travel journalism credentials and the trailer they’ve created for the show demonstrates high caliber production values, so this should be another boon for our area’s tourism once it airs,” according to S.A. “Sam” Jernigan, film commissioner of the Northeast CA Counties Film Commission, representing Nevada County.

The Northeast California Counties Film Commission is a newly-established (Autumn 2012) nonprofit organization. The County Board of Supervisors has appointed the Northeast CA Counties Film Commission as the official representative to create a “film friendly” county.
