Artist profile: Jerianne Van Dijk

JERIANNE VAN DIJK’S LIFE IS filled with artful works. Since 1976, she has been creating paintings, illustrations and murals to turn your life into an artful, unique experience.

The lure of her artwork pulls you into another place, another time. Through her mural work, the ordinary becomes the extraordinary. A doorway is not simply a doorway anymore but an entrance to another world.

Jerianne’s watercolors encompass architecture, landscapes, florals and figures. There has been a transformation—nothing is the same. With whimsyand flourish you travel into the atmospheric possibilities of what murals and trim can be.

Mainly using watercolor, with some ink and crayon, her style is both realistic and impressionistic. When it comes to illustration, the mediums require a grand variety of techniques and materials.

Living in the Northern California foothills for much of the past 30 years, her inspiration is often borne of the unique charm, historic flavor and four season beauty of the area.

Jerianne’s professional expertise includes illustration, freelance artistry for several print companies, murals, working as a “ghost” artist for designers creating their “look” and producing everything from wallpaperto textiles, including figurines, fabric and even dishware.

Jerianne’s artwork can be found on wine labels for Indian Springs Vineyards and Sierra Starr Winery as well as poster art for ZAP’S (Zinfandel Advocates & Producers) annual Zinfandel Festival. Her artwork is also found in children’s books, puzzles, album covers, posters, and a variety of products.

Jerianne is renowned for being “easy to work with.” She especially enjoys the process of working with clients in commission work, such as murals and ink, to find those special elements they are looking for—and bringing that desire, that dream, into reality.
