Starry, Starry Nights: a magical celebration at Empire Mine State Park

IMAGINE A STARRY SUMMER EVENING, twinkling lights in the trees, guests dressed in white, dining and dancing on the lush grounds of the historic Empire Mine State Park. Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation presents the 21st annual Starry, Starry Nights on Saturday, July 20, at Empire Mine State Park.

Every summer more than 300 guests attend Starry, Starry Nights—the highlight of the summer event season in Nevada County.

The fundraiser is produced by the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation to benefit vital community health programs at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.

Antonio’s Custom Catering, winner of gold, silver and bronze medals at the Culinary Olympics in Germany, will cater the elegant, multi-course dinner. Fine wines will be poured during the evening featuring local award-winning wineries.

The piece de resistances eliciting “oohs and ahhs” from the guests, Starry Starry Nights famous “dessert tent” will be unveiled after dinner along with a specialty coffee bar.

The dance floor will be revved up with California’s top audience participation party band JumpStart, playing music from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and present. Take a dance floor break to peek at the stars with local Nevada County Astronomers, who will have their telescopes set up for star-gazing.

“Starry, Starry Nights is a magical celebration that has done wonders to help create a healthier community” says Kimberly Parker, executive director of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation.

In the past, funds raised through SNMH Foundation events have helped to purchase a new ambulance, new healthcare technologies and implement community health projects. This year, the hospital is expanding their telemetry capabilities in part with funds raised through SNMH Foundation events.

The Starry affair evening include hors d’oeuvres, dinner, premium wines, beer, waters, dessert, dancing and star gazing. There will also be a no-host cocktail bar and complimentary wine and beer bar.

Reservations are $135 per person ($85 tax deductible) and need to be ordered in advance, no later than July 12.
