The Center for the Arts begins its multimillion-dollar upgrade
The Center for the Arts in downtown Grass Valley, one of the region’s premier performing arts venues, is undergoing a much-anticipated multimillion-dollar renovation. The capacity of the venue is increasing from 310 to 492, with a flexible floor plan that will allow The Center to program more events in its own home.
With the square footage of the dance floor doubled, increased seating capacity, and expanded amenities both backstage for artists and front of house for its patrons, The Center will be able to host dance concerts, cabaret nights, comedy shows and banquets. The facility’s reopening is expected for early spring 2019.
During the renovation of the venue, “The Center OnTheGo” series will take patrons on an exciting journey to new venues in western Nevada County, including shows at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium, Grass Valley Elks Lodge, and the Foothills Event Center, just to name a few.
