Cedar Crest Cottages: unique lodging on Tahoe’s West shore

LAKE TAHOE’S WEST SHORE HAS new lodging, thanks to more home grown talent. In this case, Molly Olson grew up in Tahoe City, went to college at U.S.C., and returned home to start Olson-Olson Architects with her husband, Robb. This winter the couple also opened Cedar Crest Cottages, eight vacation cottages renovated by Bruce Olson Construction that overlook the West Shore.

The newly renovated one, two and three bedroom cottages feature a full kitchen, living space, bedroom and laundry room. Each cottage’s fully equipped kitchen features state-of-the-art appliances by Bosch, GE, and Liebherr.

Comfortable leather seating in the living spaces are ideal for enjoying conversation, board games or entertainment via the soundbar or on the flat screen TV. Ample desk space and wireless high-speed internet is available in each cottage for those guests mixing business with pleasure.

The property, nestled among towering cedars and native landscaping, has a fire pit where guests can gather for s’mores, conversation or an impromptu camp game on the adjacent lawn. A day on the water awaits from the shared beach located just a short walk across the street.

The designers, Olson-Olson Architects, were inspired by the many birds that inhabit Lake Tahoe. Each cottage features a unique color palette, custom wood or stone flooring, distinctive furnishings and decor and luxurious linens.
