Northstar at Tahoe: Dine & Play in Sierra Splendor

VISITORS TO THE LAKE TAHOE REGION looking for fun, festivals and food events in the mountains will be on cloud nine when they visit Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort this summer.

The Village at Northstar will resume its monthly wine walk series, offered the last Saturday of the month through August. A different winery is featured each month, with wine tastings and appetizers offered at multiple stops throughout the Village at Northstar.

This summer three headlining Lake Tahoe Music Festival concerts will return to the Village at Northstar, kicking off with Blues Traveler on July 21, Colbie Caillat on August 4 and Michael Bolton on August 25. Northstar Resort will feature a great line-up of summer long special events that run through late September.

The annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival (September 9-11) will return for a weekend of food and wine, seminars, grape stomp, celebrity chefs, culinary demonstrations, wine tasting and live wine auction that culminates with the Sunday Grand Tasting and Culinary Competition.

Those looking for eclectic dining options in North Lake Tahoe will enjoy the Village at Northstar. Mikuni Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar is renowned for innovative variations on traditional sushi creations.

And, serving appetizers, small plates, desserts, wine, spirits and signature cocktails, The Chocolate Bar offers guests a unique option for lunch, dinner and evening cocktails.

OTHER EATERIES

For the more casual diner, Rubicon Pizza Company serves gourmet pizza creations, traditional Italian pasta, hearty salads and more. Earthly Delights offers village guests the opportunity to purchase gourmet ingredients to cook at home as well as purchase homemade take away options, made-to-order sandwiches and daily fresh baked goods.

Other eateries around the village, like Euro Snack, Euro Gelato and Euro Crepe, offer guests of the Village at Northstar enough variety to keep appetites of any size or taste satisfied.

And if it’s activities and events for the family that are desired, guests will have to look no further than Northstar Resort this summer. From guided hikes to horseback riding, mountain biking, golf, roller skating, tennis, geocaching (a hide-and-seek game using GPS) and more, Northstar Resort is a one-stop-shop for summer recreation in the mountains.

This summer, improvements will be made to the beginner teaching area and trails in the mountain bike park. Mountain biking and hiking lift operations will be offered Friday through Sunday in the early and late season, and five days a week during the heart of the summer months.

Resort visitors will find a host of shops in the Village at Northstar featuring everything from locally-crafted soaps and jewelry to handcrafted items and the latest fashions. Guests shopping and dining can take advantage of free parking, located just below the village.

Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort is located six miles north of Lake Tahoe and six miles south of historic downtown Truckee.
