A Farmers Market at Burning Man

The More Carrot camp is bringing the Black Rock Farmers Market back for our fifth year providing nutritious, mostly locally-grown produce to the citizens of Black Rock City.

We are all about maintaining the link between food production and consumption even in the middle of the Black Rock Desert, ensuring nutritious produce is available for free to the citizens of Black Rock City and promoting a culture of gifting, leave no trace, communal effort and healthy eating.

The Black Rock Farmers Market is based at the French Quarter and is open 8-10amish Tuesday-Friday of Burning Man, with a possible pop-up market on Saturday. During this time you’ll find a bunch of happy mostly orange-clad farmers enthusiastically plying you with delicious produce. We source our produce in Reno, with the majority being organic-grown locally in Nevada, and supporting local agriculture is important to us.

In addition to the produce stall the market features a bike-powered smoothy maker so we’ll be whipping up creative fruit cocktails all morning. There will also be performers and music to keep you entertained while you wait and a shaded lounge area to relax and enjoy your breakfast.

And with your support we will surprise you with a couple of “pop-up” markets in the Souk around the Man this year. Imagine a sunrise viewing from the Man and then, as you turn towards home, parched and famished, you discover the Black Rock Market Mobile Edition there in the shade of one of the souk structures, and you rest a while and enjoy an apple of almost preta-natural freshness and succulence. Sounds good doesn’t it? Help us make it happen by supporting this campaign!

Most importantly of all we help ensure that more residents of Black Rock City get the vitamins and nutrients you need to stay healthy while making art and having fun in the middle of the desert.

The Black Rock Famers Market is run by the More Carrot camp, the freedom-fighters behind the Countless Carrot March,
