Fall Pies: Perfect Crusts & Fillings for the Season – WAITING LIST ONLY

Learn how to make a buttery, flaky pie crust and two luscious seasonal fillings, apple/pear and pumpkin/squash. Carol has been Pastry Chef at BriarPatch for 4 years.

Celebration Sides: Spice Up your Holiday Fare

Enjoy the holidays and our local seasonal produce with easy and inexpensive to prepare flavorful side dishes: roasted dill carrots; roasted caraway potatoes; pumpkin, leek and apple gratin; honey-caramelized Brussels sprouts, maple-spiced nuts, and a few surprises. (Menu subject to change depending on seasonal produce.)

No Gluten? No Worries! Gluten-free Baking for the Holidays

Thurs., Nov. 17, 5:30-8:30pm $35 / $30 for Co-op owners
Relax – Take the worry out of holiday baking and gift-giving for the gluten intolerant. We will discuss the abundance of flours and flour blends on the market, how to adapt your favorite recipes, and, of course, sample a few goodies ourselves: gingerbread, coconut macaroons or cinnamon-walnut scrolls, pumpkin cheesecake or squash muffins, shortbread, candied espresso walnuts.

Chocolate Treats for the Holidays

Learn how to make chocolate ganache, the base for truffles, and how to temper chocolate to coat truffles and other chocolates. Carol has been Pastry Chef at BriarPatch for 4 years.
