Emily’s Catering & Cakes is moving to Colfax Avenue neighborhood in Grass Valley

Emily’s Catering & Cakes is moving to 421 Colfax Hwy., Grass Valley, formerly the location Summer Thyme’s Bakery & Deli in 2014.

The new location will feature a retail display case with fresh never frozen cakes, cupcakes, pies and other specialty desserts. For the first time ever, Emily’s will have a storefront featuring cakes and desserts. Retail items will include: fillings, frostings, cookie doughs, smores’ kits along with celebration candles and other cake making/decorating supplies.

The retail selection will include some of Emily’s other well-known gourmet food items, such as shallot marmalade, carmelized pears and walnuts, fruit preserves, gluten free teriyaki sauce, sweet and spicy mustard, dressings and much more.

Emily’s also add cooking classes. They will hold two classes each month, one for adults and one for younger children. Classes will be taught by Chef Emily Scott-Arbaugh as well as special guest instructors.

In addition, Emily’s will continue to offer its clients an intimate private event space for rehearsal dinners, day after brunches, birthday parties, business meetings and seminars.

Emily’s also is introducing a seasonal supper club. Its goal is to feature each season’s bounty in a prix fixe small plates meal. Each season Emily’s will design a creative menu that features the freshest ingredients the region has to offer.

This year’s dates includes April 25, August 22 and October 24.

Emily’s Nevada City catering and event space will remain open through the transition period.
