Food Truck Food Festival coming to foothills on June 30

Saul Rayo and Cocina del Mundo will headline the first annual Food Truck Food Festival on June 30 at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley.

Saul and his eleven piece band are set to hit the stage from 4 – 6 pm to play their diverse selection of original and world-party music that is guaranteed to get everybody dancing like no one was watching.
Bob Mora and the Third Degree Blues will rock the stage from 2 – 4 pm with their Chicago-style R & B. Bob and his boys have played at numerous festivals and street faires in Northern California and Nevada for the past ten years.

The Third Degree Blues Band includes legendary sax player, Jerry Martini, a member of both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and more recently, the Blues Hall of Fame.

Last but not least, is another local favorite band, Then Again, playing hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. If you enjoy the music of the Beatles, Elton John, Creedence Clearwater Revival or the Everly Brothers, this band is for you.

Then Again will perform from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

Food Trucks will be arriving from San Francisco and Sacramento to tempt your taste buds with gourmet and one-of-a-kind food items. All proceeds to benefit the Nevada Union High School Ag Dept who’s future existence looks doubtful due to budget cutbacks.

Every attendee will receive three free tickets to vote for their “Fan Favorite” Food Vendor.

The winning vendor will receive a $1,000 cash prize (and a lovely plaque!); second place gets $500 (and a lovely certificate); third place takes home $250 (and a pat on the back). Then, a ticket will be selected from each of the winning trucks and those audience members will win an IPad 2, a 64-mb IPod or a Kindle Fire for first, second and third places.
