Jernigan’s Autumn Beer and Food Pairing

Jernigan’s Tap House and Grill is hosting a food and beer event on October 18, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. Highlighting locally grown food and focusing on Nevada City’s newest brewery, Three Forks Bakery & Brewing, this is bound to be a memorable evening.

Mitzi Garnett, Jernigan’s Head Chef and Dave Cowie, brewmaster at Three Forks, bring forward the very best of the harvest season and punctuate the rapport between finely tuned cuisine and artful beers with six courses of food and beer, paired by Jernigan’s proprietor, Sean Cox. Fresh produce and herbs from Greg’s Organics and Boxcar Farm, along with others, make this a real celebration of Nevada County’s sustainable local harvest.

The proposed beer pairings include:

Oak Tree Pale Ale
Mother’s Beach Blonde
Easy Ugly Stout
Birthday Suit Nut Brown Ale
Emerald Pool IPA

The proposed dinner menu includes:

Amuse Bouche: zucchini ricotta layers with zucchini pesto in a Parmesan crisp cup
Starter: Uccelletti Scappati; Beef Birds, roll of skirt steak, duck prosciutto and pancetta on escarole
Salad: Grilled Marinated Chanterelles Salad on bed of young greens
Seafood: Day Boat Scallops
Main: Porchetta on creamy polenta side of citrus broccoli Rabelais.
Dessert: Hazel Nut Orange Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Mousse, Exotic Cremeux, White Chocolate Covered Caramelized Hazelnuts
