LeGacy Presents Christmas Shows

This is from the blog of the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce:

“At the historic Nevada Theatre….LeGacy is proud to present Phillip Grecian’s adaptation of Jean Shepard’s charming work, “A Christmas Story”, directed by Judy Blake. A holiday show for the whole family, audiences will fondly remember the story of Ralphie Parker’s (you’ll shoot your eye out!) childhood memories brought to life in the classic Christmas movie of 1983. Ralphie’s wish for a 200-Shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle supplies an underlying theme to an American family’s annual holiday traditions in an even more special time in American history. Set in 1939, the Parker family and a host of other characters remind us of a simpler time, with a kid-filled cast, and lots of fun and laughs!

“Also, for the Christmas season, LeGacy is proud to announce the return of Gary Wright to their company in ‘Santaland Diaries.’ Wright delighted audiences with his portrayal of all 31 characters of Bedford Falls in last year’s ‘This Wonderful Life’ at the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley. Returning to the same venue, Wright gives us the tales of a Macy’s ‘Santaland’ Elf, from the hilarious works of David Sedaris, adapted by Joe Mantello. Directed by Carolyn Howarth, this show is sure to be a hoot……for adult elves only!

“Both shows open November 25 at 8 p.m., continuing Thursdays through Sundays through Christmas Eve, with the exception of Sunday November 27…..only “Santaland Diaries” on November 27. On December 8, a special performance of ‘A Christmas Story’ at 7 p.m. will benefit RSVP, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Tickets for December 8 are $30 and includes an early reception with beverages and appetizers.

“General tickets are $20 in advance, ($23 at the door) for “A Christmas Story”, and $23 in advance ($25 at the door) for “Santaland Diaries”. Tickets are available at The Briar Patch and The Bookseller in Grass Valley, Harmony Books in Nevada City, online at www.legacypresents.com or by calling (530) 268 5419.
