Northstar summer wine walk on July 26

The next Summer Wine Walk at Northstar California Resort is scheduled for Saturday, July 26 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in The Village at Northstar.

Hosted throughout The Village’s fine shops and restaurants, the nine-stop tour is themed Sustainable Growers and Wineries and features nine wine and two sake varietals from renowned vineyards including J Cuvée, Sobon Estate, Ancient Peaks, and many others.

Representing the essence of laid-back luxury, the Northstar Summer Wine Walk series invites guests to savor some of California’s best organic wines.

Wine Walk Activities throughout The Village at Northstar
Lumen Wines co-founder, Will Henry, will offer a special presentation of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at Petra Wine Bar in The Village; The Villager Candle Shop invites guests to create a keepsake wine glass charm and enjoy complimentary chocolates; artisan cheese plates will be offered at Kalifornia Jean Bar; and Balance Holistic Health Spa will welcome wine walkers to savor complimentary strawberry and chocolate fondue as well as massages for $1 per minute.

Flamenco Guitarist, Milton Merlos to Perform
Renowned Spanish Flamenco guitarist Milton Merlos will perform at the Petra Wine Bar patio from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Sustainable Growers and Wineries

The Sustainable Growers and Wineries Wine Walk features wines derived from sustainable growing and harvesting methods such as the use of organically-grown grapes, solar powered energy, and viable methods during the bottling process which use less environmental resources.

“We consistently strive to reduce our carbon footprint by adopting cutting-edge sustainable practices,” said winemaker Melissa Stackhouse of J Vineyards. “The action of becoming sustainable has essentially put us on the path to become better and better in our endeavor to exist as quality winegrowers in a much larger ecosystem.”

Wine Walk Tickets and Tastes
Tickets are available for $30 the day of the event at the season pass office in The Village at Northstar, where guests receive a tasting location map and commemorative tasting glass. Guests can sample nine wines including: J Cuvée Vineyards’ 20 Brut NV, Claiborne & Churchill’s 2013 Dry Gewürztraminer, Chamisal Vineyards’ 2012 Stainless Chardonnay, Sobon Estate’s 2012 Fiddletown Zinfandel, Querciabella’s 2010 Mongrana Super Tuscan, Ancient Peaks Winery’s 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Lumen’s 2013 Starry Rosé, 2012 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In addition, Mikuni Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar will present tastes of Hana’s Fuji Apple and Gekkeikan’s Haiku.
