Colfax Chamber Hosting Snow Train to Reno

The Colfax Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its third annual overnight train trip to Reno.

The train will depart from the historic Colfax depot at noon on March 18 on a 4-hour ride through the infamous Donner Pass. The bus will leave the following afternoon on March 19 after a leisurely day in Reno.

There should be plenty of snow along the route and plenty of camaraderie among the passengers. Participants from previous years have thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. “There are many of us who have lived here full-time and have always wanted to do the trip and now, thanks to the Chamber, we can say we’ve done it!”

Round trip tickets are $85 for anyone over age 62 years and $95 for all others. Tickets purchased by February 27 will be entered into a drawing for a free hotel stay in Reno, a buffet for two and tickets to “The Buddy Holly Story.”

Participants are responsible for their own hotel reservations. However, discounts are available to the group at the Sands Regency.

The Chamber is the welcoming ambassador for the community, while promoting, developing and protecting the Colfax Area’s tourism, local economy, historical and natural resources.
