Ellu Gallery celebrates Earth Day on Friday

Ellu Gallery in Grass Valley is celebrating Earth Day by hosting an “Elements of Earth” reception on April 22 from 5-7 p.m. at 342 Idaho-Maryland Road in Grass Valley.

The evening features the premiere exhibit of artist Dave Barter. Barter works with reclaimed wood producing sculptures and carved art pieces. Harpist Eah’s ethereal notes will fill the gallery on Friday evening. The reception is followed by an open house on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ellu Gallery offers a new approach to viewing, buying and living with art. The 5,000 square foot modern and contemporary art gallery opened quietly in late 2015. Ellu Gallery invites interaction, events, impromptu small-scale musical performance and gatherings. After all, art provides inherently life-enriching experiences that reach into the social fabric of culture.

Ellu currently features eight artists, and plans on keeping a tight group of visually related, contrasting artists as it expands. Visitors will find mixed media, oil, acrylic, hot glass artworks, fine woodworking and sculpture—in both wood and glass.
