Jeweler to demonstrate at Art Works Gallery in Grass Valley this Saturday

Suzanne Himmler of Riverwoman Design will demonstrate her unique style of metal working at Art Works Gallery, 113 Mill Street, in Grass Valley on Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. as part of the gallery’s Artists in Action program. Her demonstration coincides with Grass Valley’s “2nd Saturday” Art & Wine Walk.”

Suzanne will wield hammers and torches as she demonstrates fine silver fusing, metal stamping and other silver smithing techniques. “I have the best job in the world,” says Himmler. “I get to play with fire and make lots of noise.”

Everyone is invited to come watch and try some simple metal texturing. Suzanne will show you how she uses some simple tools to form beautiful handmade chain.
