Placer Arts Studio Tour: A catalyst for arts and humanities

THE 26TH ANNUAL PLACER ARTISTS STUDIOS TOUR — one of the biggest and longest running art shows in the region and presented by the Arts Council of Placer County — is November 10-12.

The three-day, self-guided driving tour, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., showcases the work of 74 artists in their studios at 39 studios and six galleries in Roseville, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Lincoln, Loomis, Penryn,
Newcastle, Auburn, Meadow Vista and Colfax.

Art enthusiasts can get a free preview of the artwork at Placer Artists Gallery at Hacker Lab (“Taste of the Tour”) October 9-November 13, Roseville Galleria October 21-November 13, and High Hand Art Gallery on October 24-November 17.

The artist mediums include acrylic, alcohol ink, batik, blown glass, ceramics, charcoal, collage, digital photography, drawing, encaustic, fiber art, fused glass, glass, graphic design, jewelry, mixed media, multi-media, oils, painting, pastels, pencil, pen/ink, photography, portraiture, printmaking, scratch-board, silk, watercolor, web design, and wood-turning.

They also can pre-register for the tour at PlacerArts.org/tour2019/ and become eligible for prizes and perks.

This includes a chance to win a $100 “Art Bucks Certificate” that can be used to purchase any single item from any artist on the tour. Five lucky people will be chosen by random drawing.

Other benefits include updated tour and “insider” information on tour artists, special events and announcements; special deals on local eateries, wineries, breweries and places of interest; and random “swag” opportunities at the artist studios.

Attendees can visit a map at PlacerArts.org/tour2019/ to plan their trip. The map includes all artists with their address, medium and contact information.

Since 1983, the Arts Council of Placer County (or PlacerArts), has served the communities of Placer County by presenting quality visual arts exhibits, tours and events.

VOLUNTEERS
The volunteers for the Placer Artists Studios Tour make the experience easier for artists and attendees alike. Locals are invited to be a part of a team that helps artists in their studios, informs the public about artists and their work, and informs the public about the tour. Volunteers have shifts of 2-4 hours, freeing them up to also enjoy the tour. Volunteers can sign up at PlacerArts.org/tour2019/.
