PlacerArts’ 20th annual Autumn Art Studios Tour is November 8-10

PLACER COUNTY’S PICTURESQUE SMALL TOWNS, scenic trails and stunning recreation areas provide a backdrop to a vibrant arts community that amazes and delights its residents and visitors.

It is a natural habitat for artists, who translate the foothill vistas, wildlife, historic buildings and gardens into a splendid range of interpretations, with jewelry, mixed media, paintings, pastels, photography, pottery, prints, sculpture and wearable art.

The artwork is displayed at galleries, studios and annual shows, from Lincoln to Auburn to Tahoe City and points in between.

From November 8-10, PlacerArts hosts its 20th annual Autumn Art Studios Tour, a marvelous opportunity to meet the artists, see their work and watch it being created. It is the largest studio tour of the year in Placer County.

The premier open-studios tour includes 75 Placer County artists showing in 49 studio locations, from Roseville to Colfax. A new feature this year is a three-day Passport, which features raffles for $100 worth of “art bucks,” redeemable with any of the participating artists.

“The beloved fall studio tour provides a fun time for residents and visitors of all ages and is ideal for showing off the area to visiting friends and relatives,” says Angela Tahti, executive director of PlacerArts. “Many people attend year after year to drop in on new artists and to make annual pilgrimages to the studios of their favorite painter, sculptor or jewelry designer to see their latest work.”

The Arts Building in downtown Auburn is home to PlacerArts, the catalyst for Placer County’s lively arts scene. Celebrating its 30th jubilee this year, the nonprofit arts council plays an often invisible but vital backstage role that connects artists and arts organizations with residents and visitors.

Easily accessed via Interstate 80 or historic Highway 49, Placer County beckons you to enrich your soul and create lasting memories through immersion in the region’s rich arts, culture and heritage.
