Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation presents “A Night in Havana” on November 2

IN THE ‘50S, HAVANA was the city of rum and rumba. On Saturday, November 2, “A Night in Havana” is coming to the Miners Foundry in Nevada City, a fundraiser for the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Guests will be transported back in time to the rum and rumba era. The evening includes a special wine tasting and cocktail hour, gourmet Cuban-inspired dinner by Antonio’s Custom Catering, and a delicious dessert and coffee bar.

Guests can dance to the George Souza Band and participate in a silent auction that includes a trip for two to Cuba.

All guests will be entered in a drawing to win an elegant piece of jewelry donated by Stucki Jewelers of Grass Valley.

“Our fundraising events are wonderful, fun-filled evenings with friends and colleagues,” says Kimberly Parker, executive director of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation. “They also are a powerful vehicle to raise much needed funds for our non-profit community hospital.

“While this event will be luxurious, having access to top-quality medical care close to home is not a luxury or privilege —top quality healthcare is a must.”

Event proceeds benefit vital community health programs, such as the Wellness Center classes, cardiac rehab, the Women and Infant Care Unit, the nationally certified stroke program and the Cancer Center support groups, to name a few.

Event proceeds also help the Hospital Foundation fund new equipment and advances in healthcare technology for our community.

In the past, event proceeds have helped to fund a new ambulance, special equipment for the surgery department, diagnostic imaging equipment and cardiac equipment.

A Night in Havana reservations are $150 per person and space is limited. To make your reservations, call Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation at 530-477-9700 or visit us at SupportSierraNevada.org.
