Art Works Gallery hosts community-wide art project through July 16

Art Works Gallery, located at 113 Mill Street in Grass Valley, is excited to announce that it is five years old. Art Works has enjoyed great community support during its time in business and to celebrate its 5-year anniversary and to give back to the community, the Gallery has created a “Block Party” to partner with the general public in producing a collaborative work of art.

The end result will benefit NEO – New Events and Opportunities – with all proceeds going to this non-profit. NEO provides many opportunities for teens, including many after school programs. Go to www.ncneo.org to learn more about this amazing resource for Nevada County teens.

Art Works Gallery’s Block Party starts June 1. All members of the public are encouraged to come into the Gallery and make a donation to NEO to receive a primed art block. Paint, collage, embellish your art block in any way and then bring your wonderful art creation back to the Gallery as soon as it is finished and before July 16, and we will add it to our window display of interlocking art blocks.

On August 8 Art Works Gallery will hold its grand anniversary reception and sale where the art blocks will be sold — again with every dollar going to NEO.
