BriarPatch to hold Earth Day festival celebration on April 22

Planting seeds and pledging action are just two of the many ways to celebrate Earth Day at BriarPatch Co-op Market on Sunday, April 22, from noon to 5 p.m.
The festival will bring together nearly 20 community groups that are working to protect the environment. Activities for children will include planting seeds, crafting art from recycled materials, and making “Earth pledges” to take care of the air, soil, and water throughout the year. Local farmers from Living Lands Agrarian Network will grill fresh vegetables.

A tour of the BriarPatch Native Wildflower Garden will begin at the shade pavilion at 2 p.m.

The free event will take place on the BriarPatch front patio, weather permitting; outdoor activities will be cancelled if the weather is inclement.

BriarPatch encourages Earth Day shoppers to bring their own shopping bags on Earth Day. Throughout the week of April 17 through 22, BriarPatch will have Earth-friendly products on sale, including bulk foods and body care products.
