Celebration of Life for Grass Valley artist, philanthropist Peggy Levine on Oct. 28 at North Star House

To Our Members, Supporters and Friends of the North Star Historic Conservancy;

Monday, September 25, was a sad day for our community and the North Star Historic Conservancy, as Peggy Levine passed from our life. Peggy will always be fondly remembered for her generosity, warmth, spirit and incredible philanthropic efforts. Everyone she met was soon her friend and potential recruit for one of her many community projects. We were blessed to have her talents and dedication so focused on restoring the North Star House. Through her vision and efforts, the North Star House and historic grounds were conserved for posterity and are now transitioning into a cultural event center.  Our memories of Peggy will remain strong, as she was a force of nature unmatched in our community, but we will truly miss her.    

Our Board of Directors and the Levine family wish to advise you that a Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Peggy at the North Star House on Saturday, October 28 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you wish to join us in honoring Peggy’s legacy, please attend this event on October 28.   The family has requested that in lieu of any flowers, donations may be made to Peggy’s favorite causes; the North Star Historic Conservancy and the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation.  Though further details on the October 28 Celebration of Life will be made available at a later date, questions can be directed to the North Star Historic Conservancy by calling 530-477-7126 or emailing thenorthstarhouse@gmail.com.
