Grass Valley’s Flower Lady

Foothill Flowers celebrates its 50th anniversary on October 21 at 102 West Main St. Founder Marie Johnson and her sons, Mark and Todd, take pride in seasonally decorating the large front windows.

This season, a Christmas tree rises two stories from the shop floor to a skylight high above. A bronze plaque on the building identifies Marie as “Grass Valley’s Flower Lady.”
