Kodo Arts antique show and sale is October 5-13 in Nevada City

Kodo Arts Japanese Antiques owners Jake and Yuko Costello welcome the community to their spacious warehouse at 571 Searls Ave, Nevada City, on October 5-13. The warehouse is only open to the public twice a year; each time for 9-day only shows in October and May.

The remainder of the year the owners are in Japan scouring antique markets and auctions for unusual and usable pieces. Bringing in containers full of handpicked furniture, stone lanterns, home décor, kimonos, and a cornucopia of treasures, the warehouse is like walking through Kyoto antique market. There’s something for every taste and budget.

This show will feature a collection of Japanese masks from their rich folk art tradition. Masks that protect the home from fires or invite prosperity; masks from the Noh Theater, and fun masks from festivals. Also Kodo Arts has a wonderful collection for wood trays from the early 1900s -1950.

Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. Warehouse: 530-478-0812
