Nevada City Winery’s new labels feature police dog by Kathryn Wronski
We regularly feature the whimsical pet art of local artist Kathryn Wronski in our magazine. We also chose Kathryn’s pet artwork as one of the “mobile wallpapers” for our magazine’s companion mobile website, which extends our reach into the Bay Area, Southern California and elsewhere (see image on left). In Hollywood, Kathryn’s art work also has been on the set of popular TV sitcoms including How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory.
On Thursday night Nevada City Winery unveiled a commissioned Kathryn Wronski oil painting of Rüdiger, the Nevada City Police Department’s K9 “police officer” — and we are the first to show it outside of the unveiling at the winery (see below). The painting is going to hang in Nevada City Hall.
The image also is on the labels of the winery’s new Rüdiger Red (2014 Sierra Foothills Zinfandel) and Rüdiger White (2014 Sierra Foothills Chardonnay) wines. The wines are created by the winery’s award-winning winemaker Mark Foster. Ten percent of the proceeds from the Rüdiger wine supports the community funded K9 “Police Officer” program.
