Nevada City’s first Friday Artwalk is June 7

The Artwalk is a celebration of Nevada City’s diverse mix of galleries, artisan boutiques, retail shops, wine tasting rooms, restaurants, as well as our wonderfully artistic and creative community.

Participating downtown businesses will stay open until 9 p.m. every First Friday monthly and many will host “receptions” with local artists, trunk shows, and/or performances. Many shops are also offering snacks and beverages as well as sales and specials only valid for the event.

It really is a perfect evening event for the family or a great “date night” destination bringing a celebratory energy to Downtown Nevada City while encouraging folks to visit our wonderful businesses while enjoying the art and culture that makes Nevada City so unique. Many other cities have seen such a positive response and turn-out to their own “Artwalks” and with our own tremendously artistic community it seems only natural for Nevada City to host it’s own unique version.

There will also be live music and theatrical performances at various locations throughout downtown including Robinson Plaza (in front of The Chamber of Commerce) and on York Street (across from Treats). Organizers are also inviting local artists residing in the Downtown vicinity to host open studios to showcase their art. In addition there will be a Youth Arts Showcase featuring Artists between the ages of 4-18 with some fantastic prizes donated by local businesses.

This will be a year-round event and organizer, Cynthia Levesque (owner of Neva Co. Boutique), is really thrilled to be kicking it off during the fun summer vibe that June brings to Nevada City.

Our very first event will be Friday June 7 5-9 p.m. and will be reoccurring every First Friday Monthly. For additional info please contact Cynthia at 530-575-8846 or email Check it out on facebook!
