PlumbJack Squaw Valley to present “Farm Fresh to You”

PlumpJack Cafe will partner with Gary Romano of Sierra Valley Farms, to bring the first farm-fresh outdoor dining series.

With a double degree in biology and environmental studies, Executive Chef Ben “Wyatt” Dufresne is committed to sourcing locally. His love of skiing landed him in Tahoe, and it is here he has paired his culinary talents with his formal education. Just as the Cafe has partnered with California winemakers to host similar dinners, he has envisioned partnering with farmers. This is an idea he was passionate about pursuing in Squaw Valley.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, Gary Romano will join with his produce and story of being a third-generation farmer in one of the most unique growing climates in the West. Sierra Valley has one of the harshest climates in the Sierra Nevada with only 60 to 70 frost-free days a year.

Cost for each dinner is $85 per guest, and includes a four-course dinner paired with wine. Space is limited and reservations must be made seven days in advance. Call PlumpJack at 530-583-1578 to reserve your seat today or visit plumpjackcafe.com.

The PlumpJack Group

California Lieutenant Governor and former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom founded San Francisco’s popular PlumpJack Wines 20 years ago on the principle of providing high-quality products and helpful information in a friendly, non-intimidating manner, with the goal of transforming the wine purchasing experience into one of fun and discovery. Since then the PlumpJack Group portfolio has grown into a collection of 14 lifestyle and hospitality businesses throughout the Bay Area and beyond, including The Carnero’s Inn in Napa Valley and PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn in North Lake Tahoe.
