Popular Haute Trash fashion show at Pilot Peak Winery on August 27

Haute Trash will be presenting the very latest in recycled couture at Pilot Peak Winery on Saturday, August 27. This show brings together a dozen fashion designers from around the country, all poking fun at our disposable culture, through their fabulous runway creations.

Doors will open at 7, fashion show begins at 8. Your first glass of wine is included in the ticket price. You are invited to bring along a picnic basket of goodies to enjoy with the show. There will be a contest to see who can come up with the most eco-friendly picnic basket. (Think: Zero Waste.) Enjoy the view from the beautiful terraced hillside of Pilot Peak.

Since their humble beginnings at the Nevada Theater in the 1980s, Haute Trash has presented hundreds of fashion shows all around the country, from small community events like SYRCL’s Annual Yuba River Clean-up party, to elaborate productions such as the upcoming event at Pilot Peak. Haute Trash is Pushing The Envelope.

Haute Trash has been a constant inspiration to eco-conscious audiences, fashion designers and models for over three decades, from Canada to San Diego. The Haute Trash Artists Collaborative became a non-profit 501c3 organization in 2006, to further their mission of sharing their message with the broadest possible audience.

They have partnered with many sustainable and forward-thinking ecological organizations, and continue to seek out opportunities to educate young people about caring for and protecting our environment. Students from grade school to college have benefited, in places like Grass Valley, Colfax, San Francisco, Sacramento, Seattle, Eugene, Honolulu and Hilo. Funds raised at the show will help enable Haute Trash to continue this work. Through their art, they hope to transform the way you see the world.

Tickets are $30, and are available at www.pilotpeak.com, or at Make Local Habit, 109 W. Main in Grass Valley, or the Blue Cow Deli, 17500 Penn Valley Drive in Penn Valley.
