Sixth annual planting of White House Kitchen Garden

For the sixth year, fruits and vegetables were planted in the White House Kitchen Garden. This year, it also will be a pollinating garden, with a flower section designed to attract bees and butterflies.

“Make sure all of them get a little water,” First Lady Michelle Obama said while kneeling alongside students from several D.C. elementary schools, as ABC News reported.

The White House Kitchen garden was the catalyst for the First Lady’s “Let’s Move!” campaign.
