Sugar Bowl to open Wednesday

Sugar Bowl Resort announced it plans to open tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, for the 2017-18 winter season. Seven trails accessed from the Nob Hill and Lincoln chairlifts will be open, with top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding for all ability levels. The resort has received 60 inches of snow so far this season, and currently has a 29-inch base at the summit. The National Service Weather forecast calls for cold overnight temperatures to continue this week, allowing the resort to continue its snowmaking efforts.

“The combination of recent snowfall and cold temperatures that have allowed our snowmaking team to work around the clock have created some incredible early season conditions,” said Jon Slaughter, director of marketing and sales at Sugar Bowl Resort. “We’re excited to welcome our guests and season passholders back for another great season, and to providing them with a high quality experience when they get on the mountain.”

Sugar Bowl Resort will host a season opening celebration party on Saturday, December 9 that includes live music featuring the Rocking Rollers on the Village Lodge deck and complimentary lift tickets for the first 100 people. Parking and access to the resort will be available via the Gondola entrance.

The Sugar Bowl Ski and Snowboard School will offer 1-hour private lessons for $110 per hour, by reservation only, and the resort’s rental shop will be open for those who don’t have their own equipment. Lift tickets can be purchased on-site for $84 for adults (ages 23-64), $69 for young adults (ages 13-22) and seniors (ages 65-74), and $49 for children (ages 6-12) and super seniors (ages 75+). Lift tickets purchased online at least two days in advance will offer the best price available, and for those who want to ski or ride all season long, Sugar Bowl Resort season passes start at just $349.

The Sugar Bowl Hotel will open for the season on Friday, December 8, offering slopeside lodging packages starting at $209 per night.

Sugar Bowl Resort will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily beginning December 6, with the gondola running from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily to provide access to the Village Lodge and Belt Room Bar.
