Watch a trailer for the “Making of the Madrigal” movie at Nevada Union High
The Nevada Union High School Choir’s Madrigal Dinner in Grass Valley (Nevada County CA) is an event that defies description. It is part concert, part history lesson, part dinner, part comedy routine, and so much more. But there is one thing that Madrigal Dinner is for sure: completely transportive. Transportive to not just another place, but another time: The 16th Century. A time of knights and knaves, of wizards and jesters, and of Kings and Queens.
Under Choral Director Rodney Baggett, the choirs consistently receive superior ratings from adjudicators at numerous California State Music Festivals. His choirs are well known in Northern California and especially in the Nevada City and Grass Valley area. They perform frequently at community functions and offer a variety of concerts to the public. In 2005 Mr. Baggett was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the California Music Educators Association. Mr. Baggett is a member of the California Music Educators Association and the American Choral Directors Association.
