Wine Tasting Village at Tahoe Concours d’Elegance this week

Take part in the first ever Wine Tasting Village at the 41st Annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’ Elegance Wooden Boat Show, Friday, August 9, and Saturday, August 10, in Carnelian Bay, Lake Tahoe, and receive your commemorative toasting glass.

Take a break from the sun as you relax in the shade tents and enjoy a wide array of wines representative of the best throughout the western United States. Tickets for this inaugural Wine Village are limited so get your spot reserved now. Tickets are $20 and provide you with unlimited wine tasting, exclusive access to the Wine Village from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm on either Friday or Saturday of the show, as well as the opportunity to purchase full bottles of your favorites.

There will be over 30 wines for you to sample throughout the weekend. Here are few to give you a taste:

Deadbolt California Winemaker’s Blend – Pernod Ricard USA released this proprietary red blend in October 2012. Deadbolt is one of those big, bold, jammy, fruity full-bodied red wines from California, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Syrah and Syrah. It is deep, dark purplish red in the glass with cherry, plum, mocha flavors. The mouthfeel is velvety smooth. At 13% abv you definitely get all that bold fruit without the typical California heat.

Sequin Moscato – A glamorous addition to any occasion- whether a ladies’ night out or movie night in, this wine adds a dose of sparkle and style. Each sip beams with a twinkle of delicate bubbles, delivering the sweet aromas and flavors of citrus blossom, honeysuckle, soft white peach and honeyed nectar. Enjoy Sequin Moscato slightly chilled, or get creative with a signature wine cocktail. Either way, Sequin Moscato provides a lovely pair with a creamy Gruyere cheese, fresh fruit or even your favorite dessert.

Massimo Malbec – The deep hue and rich texture of Massimo Malbec exemplifies Argentina’s hallmark grape, grown in the country’s famed Valle de Uco region of Mendoza. This wine is made from grapes grown in one of he world’s highest vineyards; nearly 4,000 feet in altitude on the slopes of the majestic Andes Mountains.

Massimo Malbec is dark garnet with purple edges. Full bodied, with powerful blueberry and plum notes framed by violets, spice and tobacco on a lingering finish.
