Three Forks Bakery & Brewing Co. forges ahead to 2014 opening

In late August, we wrote exclusively about plans to open Three Forks Bakery & Brewing Co. in Nevada City, helping to create a “foodie mecca” within a block of the Nevada City Farmers Market in the historic downtown.

Now construction is underway and a Facebook page has been launched to crank up the “buzz.”

“Three Forks Bakery & Brewing Co will be opening summer 2014,” it reads. “We will serve wood-fired pizza, craft beer brewed onsite, artisan breads and a full line of other sweet and savory baked goods, soup, salad, sandwiches, as well as aguas frescas (fresh seasonal juices), regional wines, hard cider, espresso and loose leaf teas.

“We aim to source as much of our food as possible from local organic producers. Our coffee and teas will be organic and fair trade. Our menu will be fresh, simple and based on what is available locally in each season. We can’t wait to serve you great food.”

We wish this venture the best of luck as it progresses. It is another sign of the fresh, local food movement that is redefining our region.
