Bent Metal Winery’s new Adirondack chair

Philadelphia’s Harbor Park, New Jersey’s Rudgers Gardens, and the Cornerstone Wine Country Marketplace in Sonoma all have oversized Adirondack chairs that are popular with visitors. The chairs provide a little bit of color and excitement and are good for family “photo opportunities.”

Now Bent Metal Winery in Grass Valley has its own oversized Adirondack, the handiwork of owners Scott and Judy Brown. “It was a big hit Memorial Day weekend,” Judy told us.

The winery is an ideal place to sit in an Adirondack with a glass of wine (Scott is the winemaker) and one of their cheese plates while enjoying sweeping views of the Sierra. Bent Metal has regular-sized Adirondack chairs for its guests, not just a giant one. Bent Metal also has its own Bocce ball court.

The Browns are imaginative marketers. Their wine club is called “Metal Heads.” A slogan on their website reads “Get bent. Then wine about it.” A giant Adirondack chair is just the latest example of their imagination.
