Greater Grass Valley Chamber proposes jeep tours for tourists

The Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce is seeking $20,000 in funding from the City of Grass Valley for jeep tours.

The purpose of the Jeep Tour business with a tentative name of Chamber Jeep Tour Adventures, would be to expose visitors and local residents to western Nevada County attractions, state parks, wineries, rivers, its beauty and culture, as well as its history.

“It is the intent of the Chamber to add a tangible dimension to the informational services currently provided by the GGVCC& VC,” according to the plan. “The creation of the Jeep Tours will provide a profit center for the GGVCC and offer the visitors to our area and members of the community a positive and enjoyable way to experience western Nevada County’s history, beauty, rivers, historic parks, and wineries while traveling the County having fun and showcasing this unique place we call home.”

We propose to begin these tours by May 1, 2015 with two custom built jeeps that hold seven passengers. We will operate the tours through October of each year, Friday through Sunday, with special tours available during the week with advanced group reservations.
