Nevada County thanks our magazine for helping to promote the region at Sacramento conference

From the Nevada County Executive Officer’s “Friday memo”:

Auditor-Controller, Marcia Salter, reported that the annual California State Controller’s (SCO) conference with the County Auditor-Controllers was held October 23-25 in Sacramento. This year Nevada County was the featured host county, which provided an opportunity to promote all that our county has to offer. The conference was a very successful event and well attended. The SCO provided a great educational program with very timely topics. Our Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Ted Owens appeared at the conference providing the Nevada County welcome.

Marcia expresses her great appreciation for all those involved including her dedicated staff and the various members of the business community that provided their generous support and encouragement. She particularly would like to thank Cathy Whittlesey and Cindy Moon of the Chamber Commerce of Nevada City , Grass Valley Downtown Association’s Julia Jordan and Deana Tate; Shannon Pelline of Sierra Food Wine Art Magazine; Nevada County Gold Magazine; Truckee Chamber of Commerce staff and GoNevadaCounty.com, (which was displayed throughout the conference), Fred Quinterno Jr. of Quinterno’s Furniture , Williams Stationery and Staples. Various products and services totaling approximately $2,500 were purchased locally for the conference which included Nevada City Winery, Caroline’s Coffee, Dorado’s Chocolates, and printing by Real Graphics and Vision Graphics as well as gold pans from Swenson’s.
