West Shore Café hosts winemaker dinner on Oct. 12

The West Shore Café & Inn will present a true taste of Tuscany Wednesday, Oct. 12 by hosting a special dinner evening featuring authentic Italian cuisine paired with world renowned Antinori wines.

The event’s menu includes four courses of Italian dishes, such roasted pepper Bruschetta or prosciutto di Parma and melon for starters; cioppino (seafood stew with mussels, lobster, scallop, Dungeness crab, halibut, and shrimp) as a second course; bistecca Fiorentina (Tuscan porterhouse) as the entrée; and pear and almond tart for dessert.

Each course is carefully paired with select Antinori wines – including a prosecco (Italian champagne), the Santa Cristina Sangiovese, the world-famous Tignanello, and a vin santo (Italian dessert wine).

The Antinori family has been making wines since 1385. Wines presented at Wednesday’s event at the West Shore Café & Inn are the masterpieces of Piero Antinori, who is based in Napa Valley, CA.

Throughout the evening, renowned wine educator George Foote will present guests with compelling stories about each wine and explain how and why each was paired with its corresponding dish.

The prix-fixe menu includes four courses and all wine pairings for $65 per guest. Reservations are required, and may be made by calling the West Shore Café & Inn at 530.525.5200. A welcome reception is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and guests will be seated for a 7 p.m. dinner. For additional information about the Antinori Wine Tasting & Dinner, visit WestShoreCafe.com.
