Artists’ Studio in the Foothills raises almost $2,500 for KVIE public TV

Last month the Artists’ Studio in the Foothills (ASiF) raised almost $2,500 for KVIE public television in Sacramento. Six ASiF resident artists donated paintings and fine art prints for the station’s annual live art auction and fundraiser.

ASiF Owner, director, Amanda Paoletti appeared live on KVIE TV during bidding for her resident artists works, giving in depth critiques, sharing insights and personal knowledge of the artists and their generous donations.

“The art auction and fundraiser for KVIE is such a great opportunity for artists to support public television.” Says Paoletti… “For many of us artists, due to our career choices,” she chuckles, “monetary donations are just not an option for most of the year, so we look forward to contributing with the gifts we do have to share!”

The six artists and artworks donated were “Ladies, Don’t Lose Your Heads”, a 20 x 24″ silk screen print, by Rebecca Bleau, “Ten of Clubs”, an 18 x 24: acrylic painting, by Eileen Blodgett, “The Brenta Canal”, a 22 x 22″ oil painting, by Roseanne Burke, “Dogwood”, a 28 x 28″ acrylic painting, by Heather deViveiros, “Yuba River – Tahoe National Forest”, an 16 x 20″ oil painting, by Denise Wey, and “Babs and Bubbles”, a 15 x 30″ oil painting by Kathryn Wronski.

ASiF is a 4000 sq ft visual arts center and fully equipped studio arts facility featuring resident artists’ studios, a gallery to promote local artists and fine art instruction for adults and children in a wide variety of media. It is now the creative home to over 20 studio artists who gather to celebrate themed gallery shows every six to eight weeks with crowds of several hundred guests.

The current ehxibit at ASiF is the Fall Colors Open Studios Art Tour featuring a gallery display and 16 studio artists working and giving demonstrations in their studio spaces and classrooms. This is an annual county-wide event scheduled each year on the first two weekends of October. If you didn’t make it to ASiF last week, this Saturday and Sunday, October 13th and 14th, you just might make it your first stop… ASiF has tour guides for you, and the largest number of working studio artists at one location anywhere in the county. Though only six of the sixteen artists participated in the printed tour guide, just about every one of them will be in their studios throughout the tour weekend.

The Fall Colors Open Studios Art Tour at ASiF is the first of several exciting fall and winter art events at the center… Next on the calendar is the Smallworks in the Foothills Holiday Show, opening Friday, November 9th. This show will feature around a thousand original one of a kind small gift-able artworks by over 75 local artists, all of which will be sold off the wall and replaced throughout the course of the show creating an ever changing exhibit. Then on December 8th ASiF will hold it’s Holiday Open House and Trunk Show, featuring more “Smallworks” and several visiting jewelry artists demonstrating specialized jewelry making techniques.

ASiF opened its’ doors in 2008 with the mission of creating a visual arts center to support and promote the visual artists of Nevada County. The center offers professional art instruction and state of the art facilities for resident and visiting instructors, private and shared studio space, community classrooms for painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, mosaics, ceramics/wheel throwing and hand-building, jewelry, mixed media arts and more.
