ASiF’s open studio event featuring valentines on February 7

On Saturday, February 7, Artists’ Studio in the Foothills (ASiF) artists invite the public for an inspiring art filled day featuring a gallery show, demonstrations, presentations, drop in workshops and an Art of Love-Valentine art making activity designed to bring the entire family together.

Jewelry-Metal Arts Showcase: Al Martinez demonstration and class seak peek
Watch Al form beautiful, unique artful objects and jewerly using classic tools and ancient repousee & chasing techniques. A student sneak peek for his Feb 14

In the Ceramics Studio:

Claudia Jeffers’ Saturday try-a-class valentine candy bowls for all ages

Free sculpture demonstration-workshops for beginners
Claudia will demonstrate and teach a step by step figure sculpture lesson in sculpting the human head. Three students maximum, so get there early to save your spot! A class sneak peek for her Sculpting the Face & Head Class.

In the Painting, Drawing, Printmaking Studio:

Sayulita Mexico (April 12 – 21) art retreat presentation and class sneak peek
Eileen Blodgett and Liz Collins will present info about their upcoming 3rd Annual Sayulita Mexico Art Retreat. Join them for chips and salsa and hear all about this dynamic tropical art retreat vacation.

Valentine’s Printmaking Activity and Class Sneak Peek
Come join ASiF’s Printmaking Instructor Eileen Blodgett and the Pressto Printmakers’ Group for a hands-on printmaking activity and leave with a hand made Valentine for your sweetie. Pre-register for her 4 session class starting Feb 19.

2:30-3:30 p.m.
Basic Drawing Class Presentation & Class Sneak Peek with Eileen Blodgett
Come learn what this class has to offer you. It’s back by popular demand on Monday evenings, starting February 23. Practical tools for the beginners who wish to “see as the artist sees.”

In the Mixed Media Arts Studio:

11 a.m.-1 p.m.
ARTsCOOL – Kids Art Class Presentation & Class Sneak Peek with Vicki Parker
Come see examples of Vicki’s wonderful student works and introduce your child to a world of creative possibilities.

1-2 p.m.
Watercolor Class Demonstration & Class Sneak Peek with Cheri Guerette
Watch Cheri demonstrate her fine watercolor techniques and find out how you can join her ongoing weekly painting class.

2-4 p.m.
Encaustics Class Demonstration & Class Sneak Peek with Sharon Griffiths
Learn all about encaustic painting, watch artists in action practice this wonderful ancient medium and get info on weekly classes and open studio labs.
