Historic Grass Valley Gold Rush Days, June 22-23
Here’s the scoop on what’s being planned for Gold Rush Days in downtown Grass Valley on June 22-23:
Empire Mine will have a trailer with mining equipment including a miniature stamp mill (that really works), blacksmith that runs on coal, gold panning and a living history area where docents will have all kinds of period items.
Marshalls will be serving up their famous pasties.
We will have live music featuring the Humbugs and Past Due and Payable among other fiddlers.
The GVDA will host a booth with kegs of sarsaparilla that will be for sale paired with our mason jar logo glasses.
On Sunday we will have Cowboy Church at 9 a.m. followed by a $5 pancake breakfast sponsored by the Owl Grill and Caroline’s Coffee (in front of the Owl).

Bernard Bradshaw will be on hand to make balloon animals and gold rush items like pick axes and handing out cool badges and cuffs from Party Time.
Dr. Solars medicine show! 2 days of cool stuff for the whole family.

The GVDA will also have a booth with a claw foot tub, victorian furniture, carriages old fashioned dolls and more!
The Bookseller will feature various local historic writers.
Demonstrations of hand weaving, and other Gold Rush Era crafts.
Rough and Ready Chamber will be doing a reenactment preview for succession days taking place the following weekend.
Old Photos of America, Gail Lipson will have a double booth of old photos of the area on display.
