Local wine and food tasting at BriarPatch on August 19

As part of its Discover Local! celebration this August, BriarPatch Co-op will be hosting a Food and Wine Tasting Party. The event will be held on Sunday, August 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Good Food Gallery eating area in BriarPatch.

Local wines, which will include Montoliva Vineyard and Winery, Coufos Cellars, Double Oak Vineyards and Winery, and more, will be poured. The bounty of fare from local farms will incorporate tasty treats like Sierra Nevada creamy Jack cheeses, Bruchetta made with ingredients from Township Valley Farm, BriarPatch deli pesto on BriarPatch bakery bread, Fowler Family Farm grilled chicken, raw pies and almond milk, fermented foods from In The Kitchen, and melons, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The wine tasting is $1, and all of the food is free.

Also in the Good Food Gallery is John Daly’s photography. While customers enjoy local foods and wines, they can gaze at many of Daly’s favorite, local spots along the South Yuba River.
