Ski areas postpone opening day
Northstar, Kirkwood and Mt. Rose all postponed opening day, set for Friday, citing ski conditions.
“Despite recent snow, cold temperatures came a bit too late for our planned Opening Day on Friday, November 22,” Northstar announced.
“We strive to deliver the best conditions possible for our guests, therefore we’ve decided to push back Opening Day until conditions are representative of Northstar’s high standards.
“At this time, we do not have a set Opening Day to announce but we will keep you in the loop as we find out more information.
“Rest assured North Lake Tahoe’s most advanced snowmaking system is working around the clock to deliver a world-class skiing and riding experience. Stay tuned for updates and thank you for your understanding.”
HEAVENLY VALLEY:
It’s been snowing all day and we are very excited for the 2013-14 season! We do however anticipate high winds tomorrow which may impact lift operations.
KIRKWOOD
Kirkwood will not be open to the public Friday, November 22 or Saturday, November 23. Opening day will be announced soon.
MT. ROSE
Mt. Rose will open once we achieve a sustainable packed base from atop.
