Support foothills wineries first

Here’s a letter to the editor in The Union in Grass Valley pointing out the importance of promoting foothills wineries:

“I just finished reading the March 31 paper and the article on Santa Rita Hills wines. I do realize that all of the articles cannot be written by your employees — however, to promote wines from another region in this economic climate, I feel is a big mistake and an injustice to our local vintners.

“Nevada County wines, in my opinion (and judging from their medals) can stand up to any other California wine region.

“Let’s promote our own first.

Let’s always remember to shop local first!”
