SYRCL hosts beer and wine tasting event on June 6 at North Star House

Are you ready to get Wild for the Yuba? The South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL), the organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the Yuba River for the past 32 years, invites you to get Wild for the Yuba at our annual auction and wine and beer tasting experience this Saturday June 6, 2015 from 5:00-9:00pm at the historic North Star House.

The event features live music from the seven piece horn driven soul-funk group, Mojo Green, who plays their very own style of high energy dance music. On June 6, dust off your dancing shoes and prepare for this night to remember.

Wild for the Yuba is SYRCL’s biggest annual party for the river. As one of the area’s largest auctions there will be many tempting items awaiting your bid! Great deals abound at Wild for the Yuba with items ranging from exotic vacations, local services, fun festival passes and more.

Sponsored by Rincon Del Rio with participating advertisers Sierra College and KVMR, the evening will also feature great food from Smiley Guys Smoke House and Calla Lily Crepes. Attendees will enjoy five beer or wine tastings per person from nine wineries and eight breweries all showcasing their finest libations. Desserts will be available as well.

“Wild for the Yuba is SYRCL’s way to kick-off the summer river season, and is a great way to support SYRCL’s work to protect and restore our watershed throughout the year,” said Executive Director Caleb Dardick. “We invite you all to join us as we celebrate our local treasure, the Yuba River, and contribute to the work SYRCL is doing to improve conditions on the Yuba through education, advocacy and restoration.”

Tickets are still available in advance at the SYRCL office, online at www.yubariver.org, or at the BriarPatch Co-Op. Tickets may also be purchased at the door on the night of the event. Advance purchase prices are $25 per person for SYRCL members and $30 for the general public. At-the-door pricing is $30 per person for SYRCL members and $35 for the general public. There is also plenty of fun to be had if you don’t care to sample the beer and wine. Purchase a discounted Designated Driver ticket or a Youth ticket (12 & under) for only $15. Reserved 8- person VIP seating with additional benefits including shaded seating, concierge service, dinner and VIP parking are available for $65 per seat.
