The Center for the Arts: More improvements in the New Year

The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley is making some physical improvements to its venue, says Executive Director Julie Baker in a letter to members.

“To begin, we are adding much-needed office space for our staff, and a conference room that can be used by the whole community,” Baker says. “With safety and accessibility at the top of our priorities, we are also enclosing our box office with access from the outside entry stair landing and improving the ramps leading into the main theater.

“We are also working on our Master Plan for the building, considering options such as retractable seating to add about 100 seats and a bigger dance floor, a post show bar/lounge, classrooms, air conditioning, solar panels, LED lighting, more bathrooms.”

The Center also unveiled a new logo and identity program designed by staff Graphic Designer and Special Events Manager Leah Lossner.

“We wanted something authentic that would convey the high-quality, professional yet approachable style of The Center with a look that is clean and recognizable,” wrote Baker.

“We’ve also made some additions to our website including a blog currently penned by me, a video link on the home page and the opportunity to share our events across multiple social media platforms.”
